Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Dr Nazir A. Mughal has called upon the scientists to pay attention to innovations and productive use of nano technology for betterment of society and announced that discipline of nanotechnology will be introduced in the university.He was speaking at the inaugural session of two-day national workshop on Advance Electro Analytical Techniques organised by the National Center of Excellence in Analytical Chemistry (NCEAC) University of Sindh in collaboration with Higher Education Commission on Tuesday.
The vice chancellor appreciated the achievements of the NCEAC and said that the nanotechnology is most useful and many of under developed and developed countries are taking its advantage. He said today under developed countries are facing many challenges which included lack of knowledge which is power and added that in the age of globalisation we have only option to compete.
He informed that the University has established office of Innovation, Research and Commercialisation (OIRC) to help the research scholars in commercialisation of their research through industry of the country and added that its establishment could become helping hand for rendering services to the community as well as for survival of university in 21st century. Pro Vice Chancellor Dr Parveen Shah, Dean Faculty of Natural Sciences Dr Muhammad Tahir Rajput and Dr Amber Solangi also expressed their views.
