The PI seeks a research fellow from March 1st, 2013 through August 31st, 2013, for a project supported by the USDA-funded Food Policy Research Center, involving comparing public attitudes toward genetically-modified and nanotechnology-based foods and their product labeling. Master’s degree is required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- interest in ethical, legal, social, or policy aspects of emerging technologies and their applications
- Master’s degree in an area of science or social science
- strong research, analysis, and writing skills
- ability to effectively work and learn independently
- experience with collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data
- knowledge of or ability to promptly learn NVivo and SPSS or related software
Preferred Qualifications:
- background in ethical, legal, social, or policy aspects of nanotechnology and genetically modified foods
- experience with designing studies/surveys, including survey formulation and implementation, and participant recruitment
- advanced knowledge of quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques
- conduct literature reviews on assorted topics
- contribute to study/survey design, participant recruitment, and study/survey implementation
- play a key role in analysis and interpretation of quantitative and qualitative data using various software
- contribute to written publications and reports
- participate in periodic research team calls/meetings with the project team
- assist with all other aspects of planning, analysis, and interpretation, as necessary
