USA: Postdoctoral Position in Nanotechnology

Postdoctoral Position in Nanotechnology & Neuroengineering : Davis, CA, United States

A postdoctoral position is available immediately at University of California, Davis in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering for the development of multifunctional bio-interfaces for diagnostic and therapeutic applications, including biosensors for neurotoxins and advanced drug delivery modalities. The research has a strong emphasis on understanding the relationship between nanostructured materials, cell function, and device performance.

UC Davis is located in a beautiful natural setting near the Silicon Valley and the San Francisco Bay Area which offers abundant opportunities for academic and industry collaborations. The selected postdoc will have the opportunity to conduct research in a truly interdisciplinary setting with close interactions with the Center for Neuroscience, Northern California Nanotechnology Center, Departments of Biomedical Engineering and Electrical Engineering, and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Overall, the postdoc will conduct novel research while receiving training in grantsmanship and graduate student mentorship.

Candidates with the following expertise are invited to apply:

- Neural electrophysiology and biology
- Mammalian cell culture and analysis
- Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (desirable, but not required)
- Microfabrication (desirable, but not required)

In addition, candidates are required to demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, an ability to collaborate with scientists outside his/her discipline as well as think independently, and show strong motivation to conduct multidisciplinary research.

Interested candidates should email their full CV, list of three references, 1-page personal statement, and 2-3 representative publications.
