The Mission
The Sales and Service Division (SSD) of FEI is charged with selling and servicing FEI products in geographical territories worldwide. The SSD Organization serves as the primary FEI contact to both potential customers and current customers alike, providing a range of value-added products and services and maintaining hte highest levels of customer satisfaction.
The Position
The TEM Research Scientist is responsible for the acceptance of the system, advanced customer training and supporting customers in achieving scientific results. TEM Research Scientist will make our customers successful and will serve as a scientific ambassador of FEI.
Specific responsibilities are:
-Operating at the cutting edge of science and nanotechnology at and in cooperation with leading research institutes on Material Science and/or Life Science and Nanoelectronics
-Getting the systems accepted and performing at an operational level for a customers specific application.
-Co-design new applications with the customer and with key people in FEIs R&D team.
-Execute demos, jobs on site as needed and assist field service.
-Conduct customer training and translate customer needs into workable solutions.
-Deliver content for application notes and achive published scientific results within 6 months after installation.
-Create and document Best Known Methods and training materials
-Deliver scientific and other publications (papers, conference)
-Feed R&D and Product groups with information and customer feedback
-Maintain and nurture pool of TEM solution expertise (technology, methodology) for all markets
The Requirements
The successful candidate will possess the following combination of education and experience:
-Prefer PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science or Physics with strong academic background.
-5 years hands on experience in high-end TEM/STEM electron-microscopes. Comfortable in an academic environment.
-Published articles and papers.
-Understanding of a commercial organization
-Self-conscience and determined with strong work ethic
-Capacity to work independently as well as in teams.
-Strong communicative and inter-cultural skills (verbal and non-verbal).
-Frequent traveling and willingness work abroad.
