- Description:
- We are seeking candidates for a postdoctoral position focused on theoretical studies of nanostructures and nanocrystals, at the Physics and Astronomy Department of Ohio University in Athens. The research group led by Alexander Govorov is working on optical properties of nanostructures and nanomaterials such as semiconductor quantum dots, quantum wires, metal nanoparticles, plasmonic structures, bio-inspired systems incorporating molecules and nanocrystals, etc. At http://www.phy.ohiou.edu/people/faculty/govorov.html, further information about the research group is available. There will be opportunities to interact with experimentalists.
Candidates should be highly motivated and have a strong background in theoretical condensed-matter physics and in the physics of nanostructures.
The position is initially for one year, but may be extended for a second year, depending on performance.
Ohio University is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer and applications from women, minorities, veterans, and persons with disabilities are especially encouraged.
- To apply:
- The application should be submitted through the University webpage (www.ohiouniversityjobs.com ). Questions can be sent to govorov@helios.phy.ohiou.edu.
