US: Postdoctoral Fellow in Stem Cells

Description:
A postdoctoral fellow position is immediately available at the University of South Carolina. The ideal candidate will hold a PhD degree in biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, biology or related areas. Of particular interest are those candidates with strong background in stem cell biology and molecular biology techniques. The successful candidate will participate in a vibrant research group and will contribute to our efforts on understanding the mechanisms by which extracellular matrix cues control stem cell function and differentiating.

Our lab is interested in the interdisciplinary areas of biomaterials, stem cells and nano/micro-electromechanical systems with applications in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. The candidate will be involved in collaborations with USC NanoCenter, and USC medical school and must show a high motivation to interdisciplinary work.

Of particular interest are those candidates with strong background in carbon nanotube synthesis and characterization. The successful candidate will participate in a vibrant research group and will contribute to the development of carbon nanotube based nano-electromechanical system (NEMs) for biomedical applications. In addition, the candidate will be involved in collaborations with USC NanoCenter, and USC medical school and must show a high motivation to interdisciplinary work.
