General Description:
Our group has an immediate opening for a post-doctoral fellow with strong proven expertise in mammalian cell culture techniques and tissue engineering. The project is funded for the next two years and involves the fabrication and characterization of a prototype bio-artificial pancreas based on self-folding nanoporous containers. Project will involve culture of islet cells, cell viability and ELISA assays and microscopy including confocal imaging and real-time fluorescent monitoring.
Qualifications:
Ph.D. in biomedical engineering and or related field is required. Knowledge of cell culture, biomolecular assays and advanced microscopy is needed. Working knowledge of photolithography, self-assembly, micro and nanotechnology and its role in BioMEMS / biological sciences and device design/failure a plus.
