Description:
The Nanotechnology Manager will be in charge of growing revenues, budgeting and overseeing operation of a new nGimat subsidiary facility in the Lexington, KY area. Once the subsidiary is established, the manager will be responsible for bringing various nanopowders to market, securing funding and day-to-day operations primarily involving manufacturing process research and development (R&D) & scale-up of nGimat’s nanopowder fabrication technology. In this role the manager will interface with senior personnel at nGimat’s Atlanta location and also manage individuals at the Lexington location to carry out process scale-up R&D for transitioning nGimat’s proprietary nanopowder fabrication process from pilot-scale to pre-commercial scale. The manager will also interact with individuals at institutions outside of nGimat to ensure successful transition of the nanomaterials into products.

Desired Qualifications:
nGimat is seeking an energetic and talented individual with an advanced degree (preferably Ph.D.) in chemical engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering or materials engineering plus 7 or more years of experience in a chemical/materials industry setting, with particular emphasis on process scale-up. The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements: 1) previous experience as a Principal Investigator (PI) for government agency projects or the desire to assume PI responsibilities, 2) experience in chemical or materials process scaling, 3) experience in transitioning processes from lab-scale to pilot or commercial scale, 4) project management skills, 5) experience in managing technical personnel & team building, 6) negotiation and communication skills. Experience in powder process engineering, nanomaterials fabrication and/or battery materials processing are beneficial but not a requirement.
Other Requirement:
Candidate must have U.S. citizenship or a valid green card in order to meet all requirements of nGimat’s military and defense-related customers.

Reports To: CEO/CTO
Key Interactions:
This position will work closely with the CEO/CTO, Directors and other key technical personnel within the company. The individual will initially manage a small team of personnel including analytical scientist, facilities coordinator and lab technician and in the long-term help grow the team. This person will also interact with the equipment and chemical suppliers and maintain relationships with collaborators at local universities and companies. The individual will also be interacting with current and future customers and assist with nGimat’s business development and sales efforts.
Salary: $75,000 – $100,000 and performance bonus: Commensurate with education and experience.
Travel: Less than or equal to 20%
