Micro/Nano Technology Engineer(
Job Number:
1000605)
Description
POSITION: Micro/Nano Technology Engineer
DESCRIPTION: Member of the micro/nano-optics team solving problems using micro/nano lithographic technology. Develop micro/nanofabrication technology for the fabrication of micro/nano optical elements. Apply knowledge in laser and micro/nanoscale binary/grayscale optics into research. Optimize micro/nanodevice design and specification based on optics theory and software simulations. Utilize lithographic processing tools including laser writer, e-beam writer, mask aligner, ICP plasma etcher, metal evaporator and nanoimprinter for large area micro/nanopattern fabrication. Design or conduct tests of new micro/nanotechnology processes such as laser direct write, e-beam direct write and nanoimprinting. Conduct research related to a range of nanotechnology topics, such as micro/nanophotonics, nanoparticle annealing, micro/nano hybrid systems, nanofabrication, micro/nano optoelectronics, nanolithography and nanoimprinting. Create designs or prototypes for micro/nanosystem applications, such as beam delivery, grayscale blur reduction and high extraction efficiency systems. Coordinate or supervise the work of suppliers or vendors in the designing, building, or testing of micro/nano elements, such as lenses, binary/grayscale masks or imprinting templates. Design or conduct tests of new micro/nanotechnology products, processes, or systems. Engineer production processes for specific micro/nanotechnology applications, such as light enhancement or polarization control. Tailor micro/nanomaterials for micro/nanofabrication such as e-beam direct write, thermal, UV or soft nanoimprinting using knowledge in polymer materials. Design or engineer micro/nanodevices, systems, using RSOFT, GSolver, PROLITH and computer-aided design (CAD) software. Develop processes or identify equipment needed for pilot or commercial micro/nanoscale scale production. Provide scientific or technical guidance and expertise to scientists, engineers, technologists, technicians, or others using knowledge of chemical, analytical processes as applied to micro and nanoscale systems. Serve as main contact for customers, vendors and other personnel to prepare reports, deliver presentations, or participate in program review activities to communicate engineering results and recommendations.
