The Sensors & Wireless Lab has a strong tradition of developing unique MEMS-based sensors and Microsystems such as uncooled infrared sensors, micro-bridge mass air flow sensor, gas chromatographs on a chip, and a handheld micro-cytometer. In recent times the sensors lab has also done work in the area of thermally isolated nano-tube structures and development of functional nano-materials for chemical and biological sensing. In addition, the Lab is a world leader in developing robust wireless sensor networks and integration of wireless technology with sensors.
As Group Manager, you will be a key member of the lab leadership team driving the vision, overseeing the generation of new ideas, and supporting the execution of programs in MEMS, Microsystems nano-analytics, nano-enabled micro-instruments, and development of smart nano-materials. You will report to the Director of the Sensors and Wireless Laboratory.
You will have a strong leadership experience with breadth of research experience in multi-disciplinary fields.
Responsibilities include -
- Aligning the project portfolio of the group with ACS’s strategic goals for technology development;
- Growth and revenue generation;
- Provide reports to Labs and ACS senior leadership of progress for on-going initiatives;
- Drive strong program management and six sigma practices;
- Interface with the marketing and manufacturing teams of Honeywell during all stages of the R&D process;
- Continually improve product knowledge, market intelligence and technical skills;
- Support merger and acquisition – M&A – activities for the various businesses.
As a leader you will be responsible to drive our recent trend in the Sensors and Wireless Lab to accelerate the transition process of advanced technologies into new products for Honeywell. Your group will work on high impact projects with tight schedules, and stringent performance requirements. Critical to this component of the role, is in developing solid technology transition processes, aggregating task teams to execute on selected opportunities, managing risk and increasing rate of success.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Requires minimum of master’s degree Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics or Material Science.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Program manager/Team leader/Technology manager in advanced technology development is required.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Program manager/Team leader/Technology manager in advanced technology development is required.
- US citizen or permanent resident status is required as per government contract requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD is highly preferred.
- Solid foundation and some technical understanding in one or more of Sensors, materials, nanotechnology and MEMS.
- Prior experience in leading teams performing R & D in MEMS, nanotechnology, Microsystems is required.

- Demonstrated ability to bring complex systems to market, moving them from concept all the way to production a plus.
- Ability to identify strategic opportunities and use sound decision making to translate opportunities into value added work for Honeywell.
