Provides analytical and administrative support to Faculty member for ICB and campus-wide academic, administrative and research activities. Major duties include but are not limited to oversight and management of a large and complex portfolio of contracts and grants administered through multiple campus departments and ORUs; coordination of payroll and personnel issues related to Faculty member’s laboratory staff; assisting with the submission of grant proposals; planning and staffing meetings and special events; and making travel arrangements. Serves as Faculty member’s administrative liaison with the ICB and other internal and external offices. Executes duties with a superior level of professionalism, independent judgment, initiative, analytical skill, flexibility, and political acumen. Works on numerous projects simultaneously with a high level of accuracy and within deadlines.
|Strong oral and written communication skills. Strong math and computer skills, including demonstrated experience with spreadsheets, data management, word processing, and presentation software. Excellent organization skills with ability to pay strict attention to details. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities.|
|Knowledge of University policies and procedures relating to accounting and award administration. Familiarily with campus GUS accounting system. Experience with contract and grant proposal submission. Knowledge of administrative practices within an academic environment.|
