US: Computational Scientist

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, in collaboration with IBM and New York State, has created one of the world’s most powerful university-based supercomputing centers, and a top 25 supercomputing center of any kind in the world. The Computational Center for Nanotechnology Innovations (CCNI), based on the Rensselaer campus and at its Rensselaer Technology Park in Troy, N.Y., is designed both to help continue the impressive advances in shrinking device dimensions seen by electronics manufacturers, and to extend this model to a wide array of industries that could benefit from nanotechnology. This center is now looking to add a Computational Scientist who will work as a senior member of a team or team leader to carry out complex or leading edge scientific and technical efforts related to research projects. The selected candidate will also be responsible for providing technical expertise to facilitate the design, implementation and analysis of procedures, techniques, and results which enable investigators to conduct research projects. Qualified candidates will possess a Master’s degree in relevant field or discipline as well as 3-5 years of experience. Individuals should also have secured a degree in computational science and engineering (CSE), or engineering, possess advanced algorithm and programming techniques with scientific computing languages and systems, and have a specific background in parallel scientific and engineering computations.
