The appointment will be on UCL Grade 7. The salary range will be £29,099 – £35,788 per annum, exclusive of London Allowance.
Duties and Responsibilities
This position forms part of a project, funded by BBSRC, that will build up the capability to image cryofrozen chromosomes using the new method of Coherent X-ray Diffraction Imaging (CXDI). The experimental work will utilize the new I-13 “imaging and coherence” beamline of the Diamond Light Source, which is adjacent to the Research Complex at Harwell, where the position will be based.
The position is funded initially for one year.
Key Requirements
The successful applicant will have a PhD in a relevant area of biological or physical sciences,medicine or biophysics or at least have submitted their thesis. The appointee will also have prior experience in biological X-ray imaging, in experimental research procedures, biological sample handling and with computer-based data analysis.
