Applications are invited for a Post Doctoral Research Associate in plasmonics and surface enhanced spectroscopy at King’s College London, to be taken up as soon as possible. The successful candidate will be a member of the Experimental Biophysics and Nanotechnology Group in the Department of Physics and will be based at the Strand Campus of King’s College London.
The role of the post holder in the team will be to perform spectroscopic measurements, design, fabricate and characterize a range of plasmonic nanostructures for the enhancement of optical response of molecules and other quantum objects. As well as the opportunity to perform research in a highly cross-disciplinary environment and acquire new knowledge and skills, there will be opportunities for teaching especially at postgraduate level, and there is a strong ethos of academic support for postdoctoral career development.
Details
Candidates must have a PhD including relevant research experience in fluorescence and Raman spectroscopy spectroscopy as well as the design and fabrication of plasmonic nanoantennas for surface enhanced spectroscopies.

Salary: The salary is £30,870- £33,734 per annum plus £2,323 London Allowance per annum.
Post duration: The position is available immediately and is a fixed term appointment until 30th June 2013.
