Multidisciplinary Scientist

We are seeking an experienced multidisciplinary scientist/engineer to support the development of innovative systems and technologies for biotechnological and medical applications. The successful candidates will be expected to make a solid contribution to a group with core business in diagnostics, bio-instrumentation and surgical technology.

You will be expected to:
- Immediately engage in a technically and commercially stretching environment
- Contribute to and lead technically demanding technology projects
- Effectively integrate with a talented team of like-minded people

You will have:
- A 1st or 2.1 class degree in a relevant scientific/technical discipline (biomedical sciences, chemistry, physics, engineering, materials) with pertinent multidisciplinary doctoral and/or employment experience
- A focus on system development
- Intrinsically high levels of motivation
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- A good mixture of analytical, experimental and creative capabilities
- Strong interest/track record in medical device development

Your experience will be in one or more of the following areas:
- Diagnostic device development
- Biosensors (eg electrochemical, optical, etc.)
- DNA analysis (eg molecular diagnostic devices, sequencing tools)
- Point of care systems
- Microfluidics
- Application of nanotechnologies
- Implantable devices
- Bioprocess system development
- Novel bio-analytical tools
- Development of disposables
- Process modelling
