University of Cambridge – Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy
MPhil in Micro- and Nanotechnology Enterprise October 2011
Applications are invited from students with suitable backgrounds in the physical or biological sciences for this course which is delivered in a collaboration between the Departments of Materials Science, Chemistry, Engineering and Physics, with contributions from the Judge Business School.
The programme combines an in-depth multidisciplinary scientific programme with a global perspective on the commercial opportunities and business practice necessary for successful exploitation. This 10 month Master’s degree provides an unparalleled education experience for entrepreneurs in the rapidly developing fields of nanotechnology and micro electromechanical systems. It will be particularly attractive to those with some postgraduate experience in an industrial or business environment and who are enthusiastic about enterprise and innovation.
Students will be based in the Department of Materials Science and Metallurgy but will attend some programmes in other parts of the University, particularly the Judge Business School.
An upper second class honours degree or equivalent at the Bachelor’s level is the minimum academic requirement for admission. Applications will be accepted until 30 June 2011, or until all available places have been taken.
