UK: Laser Optics Engineer/Scientist

Our Client is a high end nanotechnology company that specialises amongst other things in provision of laser optics used in quality control of silicon chip manufacturing.

The person will be responsible to produce the complex measurement systems used in manufacture of semiconductor devices/integrated circuits. The Optics Engineer / Scientist will work in Yorkshire, England on projects for worldwide customers. The selected applicant will manufacture metrology solutions for complex multi-layer thin film measurements and Optical Critical Dimension measurements for sub-100 nanometer features.

Working as part of a close knit team, the Optics Engineer / Scientist role is initially offered for 6 month contract, with opportunity for renewal subject to ongoing project workload and demonstrated capability.

Qualifications
MS/PH.D. in Materials Science, Physics, Nanotechnology, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Possess good interpersonal skills and willing to work in a team environment to exacting requirements
Preferred 8+ year experience in a semiconductor fabrication or research environment
Familiarity with Software coding using Visual Basic, C++, MathCAD, Matlab and data post-processing
