Building on a very successful symposium on Nanotechnology offered in 2005, the Federation of Societies for Coatings Technology (FSCT) will host an Advancement in Coatings Series program on "Nanotechnology in Coatings: Emerging Applications" in 2008.
To be held March 26-28 at the Caribe Royale, in Orlando, FL, this conference will explore emerging applications in nanotechnology and discuss ways that these technologies will impact the user by providing competitive advantages in the development of new coatings products.
Developed by the FSCT 2008 Nanotechnology Task Force, this ACSeries program is a two and one-half day symposium featuring 32 paper presentations, supplemented with a keynote and plenary lectures. Industry experts will explore such areas as nanoscale design and synthesis, nanomaterials characterization, markets and applications, as well as functional activity.
Scientists, formulators, engineers, and students from academic, government, and industrial laboratories who are involved in any aspect of coating development using nanotechnologies will benefit in exploring these new methodologies. Managers and sales personnel will benefit by increasing their awareness of the new tools available and their impact on creative innovations and technologies. Anyone involved in the value chain-suppliers and developers of resins, pigments, additives, and other ingredients; those developing new coating products; and those who are developing product specifications and using coatings—will be able to learn something new that will impact and enhance their effectiveness.
