The Centre will provide world-class training for young scientists to PhD and full and part time MSc level. These existing activities will provide access for both fundamental, applied and contract research for magnetic measurements, sputter deposition, MBE growth, X-ray and electron diffraction, magnetoresistance measurements and in particular scanning tunnelling microscopy.

The 4 core tools will be housed in recently refurbished and modernised contiguous space with the associated facilities located within the same building.
