According to the U.S. government agencies, nanotechnology alone will be a trillion dollar business by the year 2015, and about 1 million employees will be required in U.S. alone. Clean technology, which has become a major application of nanotechnology, had a revenue growth from 55 billion in 2006 to 77.3 billion in 2007, a 40% annual increase. The time to enter this growing industry is now, and the CNCP certification program is designed to equip you with relevant knowledge and practical experience to be successful in the emerging industries.

The Certified Nanotechnology & Clean Technology Professional Program will be offered in a 8-week training from August 16- October 4, 2008 in San Jose.

The certificate program is designed to train the participants for professional jobs with an opportunity for advancement in the high growth industries of nanotechnology and clean technology. The certificate classroom/lab training courses will equip you to enter into the emerging nanotech and clean tech industries. Students will be expected to demonstrate their acquired knowledge through problem solving, group discussions, and project development.

In addition to classroom learning and group project research assignment, students are expected to participate in industry seminars which will be held on Thursdays at 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM and complete a hand-on learning coursework on how to use a Scanning Electron Microscope at our training laboratory.

Prerequisite: a 4 year degree (Bachelor of Art, Sciences or Engineering) or equivalent with at least 3 years of working experience.

The purpose of the International Conference on "NT Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety: Research to Practice" is to advance this emerging field with respect to: the protection and promotion of worker safety and health in nanomanufacturing enterprises/environment and consumer public health, and the prevention and treatment of occupational diseases through the use of NT.

I would like to invite you to exhibit at the International Conference on Nanotechnology Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety: Research to Practice. The purpose of the International Conference on "NT Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety: Research to Practice" is to advance this emerging field with respect to: the protection and promotion of worker safety and health in nanomanufacturing enterprises/environment and consumer public health, and the prevention and treatment of occupational diseases through the use of NT.

The International Conference on Nanotechnology Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety: Research to Practice will be held December 4-7, 2006, at the Duke Energy Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. Enclosed is an Exhibitor contract and floor plan for the exhibit hall. If you would like to be represented in the exhibit hall, please complete and return the exhibitor contract with deposit, indicating three different choices of booth space. If all of your choices are not available, you will be placed in the next closest booth to those choices. Booths are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis and will not be assigned without deposit.

The International Council on Nanotechnology (ICON) is an organization whose activities are broadly supported by industry, non-profit foundations, and governments. Based at Rice University, the ICON is a currently an affiliates program of the United States National Science Foundations Center for Biological and Environmental Nanotechnology; however, its membership extends beyond CBEN to include other national and international centers with an interest in its mission. ICON permits a diverse array of nanotechnology stakeholders to share resources and information with the aim of ensuring a sustainable nanotechnology industry.

ICONТ’s activities surround the emerging industrial area of nanotechnology. Nanotechnology is the study and application of materials with one dimension under 100 nm. In this size range, materials can be created with valuable chemical and physical properties which enable a wide range of technological applications, ranging from faster computer chips to new ways of treating cancer. In the United States, the organization of diverse research activities under the "National Nanotechnology Initiative" has led to one of the biggest government investment in physical sciences research since the space program. The field of nanotechnology has captured the imagination of scientists and non-scientists alike who see the potential to create benefits that could touch the lives of people everywhere.

Groups like ICON believe that a proactive approach to sustainability and safety will only enhance the value of the nanotechnology enterprise to both industry and the worlds citizens. Our efforts are founded on the belief that partnership activities, between governments, industry, academia and non-governmental organizations are the key to a green nanotechnology industry.
