Flexcell (VHF-Technologies SA) is a Swiss company founded in 2000 at the Ecole d'Ingénieurs du Canton de Neuchâtel by three forward-thinking scientists and entrepreneurs, passionate about renewable energy and skilled in plasma deposition processes of amorphous silicon.
Over the past few years, Flexcell has evolved from a technology start-up to a leading-edge technology company in the photovoltaic (PV) industry.

The company manufactures flexible, thin and lightweight photovoltaic modules, using its proprietary Very-High-Frequency plasma technology to deposit thin layers of amorphous silicon onto plastic substrates.

Owing to its highly flexible PV foil, flexcell is able to deliver innovative solar consumer products (e.g. rollable battery chargers) and to provide integration solutions for the building industry (Building Integrated Photovoltaics) and industrial OEM markets.

The Company received the "Eco-Trophy" from the city of Lausanne in 2004 and the "CTI-Start-up" Award from the Swiss Federal Department of Economy in 2000 as acknowledgement of its leading position in the innovation and industrialisation of renewable energies.
