AdvanceTEC, LLC was founded in 2000 by Tim Loughran and John Burton who collectively have designed and constructed over 500,000 sq. ft. of cleanroom space from Class 1 to 100,000.

AdvanceTEC is a cleanroom and laboratory design/build contractor specializing in the microelectronics, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, and biotech industries. Dr. Raj Bawa, a biochemist and microbiologist, is a registered patent agent licensed to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office (PTO). Dr. Bawa has over fifteen years of patent experience. He has been a researcher for more than twenty years. Since 2002, Dr. Bawa has served as a technology and patent consultant to national and international biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. Our 49 individual state-of-the-art foundries collectively offer the most comprehensive and diverse set of implementation solutions for MEMS, micro- and nano-technologies to be found anywhere in the world.

The MEMS and Nanotechnology Exchange customer list includes nearly 500 organizations around the country including multinational corporations, small start-ups, leading academic research institutions, and government facilities.

Under the MEMS and Nanotechnology Exchange program, a network of fabrication and design centers is organized and connected, such that the user drafts a process sequence, which can cross the boundaries separating the individual facilities. Communication between the fabrication facilities and between the facility and users is accomplished over the Internet or other high-speed communication facilities, as appropriate. Planning, logistics, and billing, as well as detailed network operation and management are handled by the MEMS and Nanotechnology Exchange staff, who act as a "trusted intermediary" between the fabrication service providers and the user community. The fabrication service providers consists of academic labs, commercial fabrication facilities, and government labs, which are configured as network nodes organized and made accessible to the users via the MEMS and Nanotechnology Exchange program. The nodes of the network are interconnected via the web and package courier services (e.g., Federal Express). The nodes offer services in the form of fabrication processes and sequences. Fabrication service offerings consist of individual discrete processing steps, whole or partial MEMS and Nanotechnology device process sequences, and commercial integrated circuit fabrication processes. The fabrication can be completely performed at a single facility in specialized cases where a single facility offers all the needed processing steps; but in the more likely case where the required processing capabilities are scattered across different locations, it will be performed at several fabrication locations. The MEMS and Nanotechnology Exchange administers the services of the nodes and collects fees for the services executed and returns them to the respective nodes.
