PURPOSE

A working symposium to drill down the precise requirements for driving nanotechnology to our military and commercial marketplaces. Then, through collaboration among the participants a ‘Best in Class’ plan will be produced for rapidly pushing nanotechnology where it is most needed.

Coventor and MANCEF to offer Four MEMS Design Scholarships at COMS 2008

MANCEF and Coventor panelists will choose the scholarship winners based on research proposal papers submitted in the following four categories:
• Bio MEMS
• RF MEMS
• Sensors/Actuators
• Other Novel Designs.

Proposal submission guidelines are available at www.mancef-coms2008.org. To have your proposal considered for this COMS2008 award, please email your abstract to rgiasolli@mancef.org. Proposals can be submitted until July 30, 2008.

MEMS software provider, Coventor Inc., along with the Micro and Nanotechnology Commercialization Education Foundation (MANCEF), will award four 1-year licenses of Coventor's CoventorWare Designer/ Analyzer package to students and their professors during the COMS2008 conference. The scholarships are granted based on proposals submitted by students working in micro systems research around the world.

To qualify for a scholarship, you must be a full-time student at a college, university, or vocational-technical institute and have a desire to research and develop novel micro system technology structures or processes. In addition, the faculty professor mentoring you must be a current MANCEF member. Membership forms are available at http://www.mancef.org/members.htm. The scholarships will be awarded at the COMS 2008 award ceremony in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico on Wednesday September 3, 2008.
