BioSante is developing a pipeline of hormone therapy products to treat both men and women. BioSante's hormone therapy products are gel formulations for transdermal administration that deliver bioidentical estradiol and testosterone. Symptoms treated with hormone therapy in men include impotence, diminished sex drive, muscle weakness and osteoporosis. Apogee was organized as a Delaware corporation in 1987, and initially operated through its wholly owned subsidiary, Apogee Acoustics Incorporated. Acoustics engineered, manufactured and marketed high quality, high-end patented ribbon loudspeaker systems for use in home audio and video entertainment systems. This technology was so innovative that a pair of Apogee loudspeakers is on display at the Smithsonian Museum. The Company built upon this audio experience and developed the worlds first all-digital, high efficiency audio amplifier ICs, which it trade trademarked as Direct Digital Amplification or DDX. DDX technology became the market leader and in conjunction with the Company's DDX technology licensee, STMicroelectronics, the companies developed over 25 DDX ICs that had total sales of over 35 million devices to leading consumer brands such as Fujitsu, Harman Kardon, Hitachi, Kenwood, LG, Philips, RCA, Samsung, Sharp, Sony and Zenith. In October of 2005, the Company sold its audio business, including its DDX technology to SigmaTel, Inc., a leader in mixed-signal integrated circuits for the consumer electronics and computing markets.

In May 2004, the Company acquired a portfolio of MEMS intellectual property, trade secrets and know-how developed by Standard MEMS, Inc. as part of its strategy to diversify its technology base and customer base. Concurrently the Company hired key staff from the former Standard MEMS and established a MEMS Division. The Company is leveraging these acquired assets to develop a family of proprietary products for the automotive, consumer, industrial and medical markets.
