In 1957, Raychem (formed from Radiation Chemistry) Corporation was founded by Paul Cook, an inventor and engineer. Among its many achievements, Raychem has been renowned for more than thirty years as the inventors and purveyors of self regulating heat-tracing technology. Raychem acquired Chemelex in 1969 for their for their Celotherm constant wattage heater technology. From there Raychem invented the world's first self regulating heating cable that soon became the industry standard for pipe freeze protection and temperature maintenance applications. Over the next 20 years, Raychem continued R &D focus in the area of polymer science and continued to develop and market innovative solutions. Finally, In 1998 Raychem acquired Thorin & Thorin - a Swedish Floor heating specialist - and entered the underfloor heating market, a business which continues to grow today on a worldwide level.

In 1999, Raychem Corporation was purchased by Tyco International and split into two segments; electronics and heat tracing. The former Raychem Heat-Tracing Division was renamed Raychem HTS (for Heat-Tracing Systems) and placed within Tyco's Flow Control Division. There it began to grow through acquisition, obtaining different heat-tracing related companies such as Accutron, Isopad, and Tracer Industries. The latter, Tracer Industries, would prove to have a major impact on the capabilities of Tyco Thermal Controls as it brought the company a full range of engineering, design and construction capabilities.

In January 2001, Tyco Thermal Controls acquired LG-Cable's Heat-Tracing Division. This event marked an important step in Tyco Thermal Controls' strategy to increase sales and presence in Asia by providing new distribution channels, as well as a manufacturing facility in Korea.

Due to the high requirements of their customers in the fifties, Carlo Erba developed the first generation of automated instruments for mercury porosimetry and volumetric gas adsorption.

With more than 25 years experience in sales and service of these products, former employees of Carlo Erba Germany founded the company POROTEC in 1994 taking over the distribution of the microstructure lines for THERMO Electron (Carlo Erba) and the support of over 250 customers in Germany. In 1995 POROTEC became responsible for distribution in Switzerland and after opening our office in Vienna, Austria, the eastern European countries were also added to our sales region. In the same year POROTEC began distributing the Dynamic Vapour Sorption instruments for Surface Measurement Systems. In 1982 close contact with scientific researchers allowed us to organize the first "Workshop on the characterization of finely divided and porous solids". This 2 day event has been repeated every 2 years.
The XIII. Workshop will be held traditionally in Bad Soden. With new innovative instruments representing the industrial standard for quality control and covering the requirements of fundamental research, POROTEC now offers a wide variety of instruments for the characterization of finely divided and porous solids. With our new Application-Lab we are able to demonstrate the instruments for Hg-porosimetry, physisorption, chemisorption, vapoursorption, density measurements, Particle Size measurements and temperature programmed desorption reduction oxidation and pulse-chemisorption. Within our lab we are able to improve our service capabilities with training courses and mandate analysis. This helps our customers to solve their analytical problems. POROTEC, together with the good cooperation of our customers and 35 years experience in development of scientific instruments, will continue to introduce new techniques in both hardware and software offering successful solutions, utilizing powerful instruments, combined with superior support services.

Leave A 96 at exit Landsberg-West and follow the signs to Schongau (B 17). Behind Schongau follow the signs to Garmisch-Parten-kirchen (B 23). At Saulgrub turn left into direction
to Murnau.
You will find the Murnau-Westried plant after ap-
proximately 10 km on the right side.
For visiting the Eschenlohe plant follow the signs
to Murnau and within Murnau take the B 2 into direction to Garmisch-Partenkirchen (Olympia-strasse). You will find KERN after approximately 7 km on the left side, straight at the turnoff to the industrial estate ("Gewerbegebiet Eschenlohe“).

From northern directions: via Munich take high-way A 95 to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Leave this highway at exit Sindelsdorf or Murnau/Kochel for visiting the Murnau-Westried plant. Go into direction to Murnau and within Murnau into direction to Bad Kohlgrub.You will find KERN after approximately 5 km on the left side.
The way to the Eschenlohe plant takes a few
minutes less – leave highway A 95 a few kilometers later at exit Eschenlohe and turn left into direction Murnau/München entering B 2 (Olympiastrasse). You will find KERN at the northern outskirts of Eschenlohe on the right side, straight at the turn-
off to the industrial estate ("Gewerbegebiet Eschenlohe“).

From southern directions: from Austria take the frontier crossings Griesen or Scharnitz to Germany and follow the signs to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. From there take the B 2 into direction to München.
Stay at B 2 – this route (Olympiastrasse) will lead
you directly to the Eschenlohe plant. You will find KERN at the northern outskirts of Eschenlohe on the right side, straight at the turnoff to the industrial estate („Gewerbegebiet Eschenlohe“).
For visiting the Murnau-Westried plant follow the
same route (B 2) to Murnau. Within Murnau take direction to Bad Kohlgrub. You will find KERN on this way after approximately 5 km on the left side.

The destination of your flight to Germany is airport München Franz-Josef-Strauss (Munich).

Bereits im ersten Geschäftsjahr ist es der inomat GmbH gelungen, die drei Produktreihen ino®wool, ino®decor und ino®flex am Markt zu etablieren. Der Schutz der Marke "ino" wurde im November 2001 beim Deutschen Patent- und Markenamt beantragt und im April 2002 bewilligt.

ino®wool ist der Markenname für Nanobinder zur Herstellung thermisch stabiler, nicht brennbarer und recycelbarer Produkte aus Mineralwolle.

Durch den Einsatz von ino®flex sind multifunktionelle mikro- oder nanostrukturierte Oberflächen durch einfaches Prägen zugänglich.

Mit ino®decor können schwermetallfreie Dekors auf verschiedensten Untergründen hergestellt werden. ino®decor ist eine ideale Ergänzung zu der üblichen Produktpalette organischer Lacke und Emails.

Die neue Produktreihe ino®dur stellt sowohl wasserbasierte als auch lösungsmittelbasierte Beschichtungswerkstoffe, die als Antihaftschichten, beispielsweise als Entformungshilfen, eingesetzt werden können, bereit.

Auf diese Materialbasis aufbauend sind beispielsweise brandgeschützte, bewitterungsbeständige Naturfaserkomposite, dekorative Beschichtungen für Glas, Metall und Keramik, Korrosionsschutzschichten, Antihaftschichten, Entformungshilfen, hydrophobe Beschichtungen oder Schichten zur Erhöhung der Festigkeit von Glas zugänglich.

In der Endphase der Entwicklung und bereits erfolgreich getestet sind neuartige, nichtbrennbare, anorganische Klebstoffe der ino®bond-Reihe.
Darüber hinaus steckt die inomat GmbH intensive Forschungsarbeit in die Entwicklung und Produktion von Brandschutzausrüstungen, beispielsweise für Naturfasern und Holz: ino®flam-Reihe, und auf die Entwicklung partikulärer Sole mit maßgeschneiderter Oberflächenmodifizierung: ino®sil-Reihe. In beiden Fällen kann die inomat GmbH bereits erfolgreiche Tests in Zusammenarbeit mit Industriepartnern vorweisen.
