Spain: PhD offer in Functionalized Nanoparticles and Bio-materials

Located in the Barcelona area, CIN2 is a key action for the development of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in Catalonia and Spain, aiming to be an international referent of scientific excellence.   CIN2 is a mixed center formed by the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) and the Institut Català de Nanotecnologia (ICN). This joint intellectual adventure spans from fundamental research in nanoscience to appplications of nanotechnology, interfacing with the industrial enviroment. We promote both local and international collaborations, and our research ranges from focused lines to transversal activities. Excellence and dedication are the pillars supporting the activity of this research center.   We are looking for a graduate in Chemistry or Materials Science highly motivated for developing a PhD research frontier in the development of metal-organic functional nanoparticles.   The work developed in this thesis will be focused on the synthesis and study of physico-chemical and morphological properties of the new functionalized nanomaterials with interesting applications in the field of biomaterials,biomedical or other areas of industrial interest.   The candidate must have a grade average of more than 2,2(scaleof4). Will be taken into account the experience inorganic and organometallic synthesis as well as the possession of an official Master and knowledge of English.
