The Graduate Test Associate role will form part of a pool of testing expertise that is responsible for supporting the projects and systems which are the responsibility of the Global Testing Capability Practice. These include a variety of HP customers in the public and private sector.
This opportunity will provide you with a defined career path in the testing capability with progression after graduation. You will participate in the HP Induction Training, a 2 week boot camp with training in all aspects of testing, testing tools/methods leading to the ISTQB certification exam (An industry recognised qualification in testing, and gain understanding of GTP testing methodology and best practice. This is followed by three months knowledge transfer training, predominantly based in the South East. Your career path will offer you the opportunity to progress to the management of testing activities and possibly through to the Testing Architects level.
Reporting to a GTP Test Manager, the Graduate Test Associates tasks will include:
· Planning tasks with the Test Manager
· System Test Execution
· System Test Reporting
· Defect Reporting
· Participating in customer acceptance testing
· Reporting to the Test Manager on the performance of the above
Your overall objectives will be to develop, execute and maintain the test assets in line with the agreed Test Strategy, Test Procedures and Test Plans and to support the Test Manager in providing timely and accurate information on the quality of systems delivered.
Main Responsibilities -
· To gain a comprehensive understanding of the system being developed from the appropriate viewpoint.
· To perform verification activities of deliverables from all phases of the project in accordance with the Test Plan.
· Execution of the test scripts in the manner specified by the appropriate Test Plan.
· Recording of the actual test results against the expected results and retaining for future reference.
· To find and raise important problems, in accordance with the Problem Management procedures, and track through to satisfactory resolution.
· Perform regression testing following problem fixing.
· Utilise techniques and best practice, following the standard testing procedures and guidelines.
· Report progress to the Test Manager as required.
· Liaise with other teams, external contacts as required.
· Consider configuration management processes in support of testing processes·
· Work together with the business in developing their test cases and the development team in structuring / planning testing
· Provide testing metrics during the testing stages

Naturally you’ll need computer literacy, which should include knowledge of Microsoft packages, but just as important will be your interpersonal, team-working and time management skills.
