| Description | Our client is a leading petrochemical manufacturer of PE and PP resins for various applications. Their plastic research centre is looking for a Specialist in PE and PP films (blown film, cast film and BOPP film) that will be located in Al Jubail Industrial City in Saudi Arabia.
The successful candidate will use in-depth understanding of material/polymer science and engineering to lead material and product development programs in collaboration with our client’s Petrochemicals Complex, Marketing and technology providers. The candidate shall have 10 – 15 years experience in the R&D activities for the development of new products from PE and PP resins and/or their compounds for various applications. He shall follow structural and scientific approach to R&D projects and product development to derive and maintain the fundamental understanding of first level principles in product, process, and material interactions that drive the development and maintenance of quality performance-based specifications. The candidate will also lead fundamental research into various polymeric material technologies to determine material properties that will result in superior product offerings. Important parts of the responsibilities of these positions include the provision of technical support to our client’s Marketing clients for existing grades, and the scale-up and commercialization of technical solutions/new product for the business as well as to own and support the development of global and regional supply as the business requires. This position also involves the creation of computer based models, to understand system interactions and modes of failure to support rapid prototyping and screening and increase process and material robustness. Our client is a fast-paced, highly collaborative, diverse environment that demands strong leadership, communication (both written and verbal), and collaboration skills to successfully deliver business results. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks as part of a multi-disciplinary team are important for this position. MSC degree preferably PhD degree in Materials Science, Polymer Science, or a related field is required. Experience in nanotechnology, computational modelling, CAD and CAE packages for the plastic industry is a plus.
