Punjabi University’s Department of Physics is going to start a two-year MSc course in nanotechnology from the next academic session. This course will be in addition to the running courses of MSc Physics, MSc Applied Physics and MSc Astronomy and Space Physics.
According to H S Bhatti, professor and head of the Physics department, 16 students from BSc/BTech streams will be admitted to the course. “We want our students to have practical training in the emerging field of nanotechnology. Till now, very few applications of nanotechnology have come up in the field of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Medicine. A number of innovative ideas have come up due to the research being carried out in this diverse field, Bhatti said.
