Eksigent Technologies, LLC
Address: 5875 Arnold Road
Zip: 94568 CEO/ President : David Weber Eksigent's three product lines are: the EKPump for medical/life science applications and fluid metering, the NanoFlow Metering System for precise reagent metering, and the NanoLC system for proteomics and drug discovery applications. Eksigent was established in May 2000 by a group of senior scientists from Sandia National Laboratories, a U.S. national laboratory. While at Sandia, the group led development of portable microscale chemical analysis systems for detection of biological and chemical agents. This work led to the invention of breakthrough technologies that form the core of Eksigent's extensive suite of microfluidic capabilities. The company's key technologies are microscale pumping/flow control and microfabrication systems integration. The company's two product lines are the NanoLC system and EKPump metering and dispensing systems. The NanoLC system is used for nanoscale high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) for proteomics and high throughput HPLC for drug discovery. EKPumps are used for microscale combinatorial synthesis, portable medical devices, and liquid handling systems. More information is available on the Applications page. Research, manufacturing, testing, and administrative functions are maintained at Eksigent's Livermore facility in the San Francisco Bay Area. The research staff includes scientists and engineers with expertise in analytical and physical chemistry, biology, materials science, microfabrication, fluid dynamics, instrument design, and separations. The company maintains active research and development programs in microfabrication, microfluidics, biochemical analysis, detection, and optics. |
