XeroCoat was formed in 2004 to manage and commercialise a new kind of coating technology. In 2001 Michael Harvey invented a new material and process for producing non-fogging, anti-reflecting and scratch proof coatings on glass and plastics.

Michael partnered with Paul Meredith to further develop this technology and together they are currently the drive behind XeroCoat's development.

Queensland's Sustainable Energy Innovation Fund, administered by the Environmental Protection Agency, recently awarded the team a grant to further develop the new coating. Their support will allow trials of this technology to improve the efficiency of solar cells, with the first improved prototypes expected by January 2005
