PEL Associates is focused on sustaining innovation including development of novel smart micro sensors and smart self renewable coatings that will disrupt many existing markets by creating new customer behaviors and new markets due to a substantial shift in cost and convenience. These products are unique and have no current competition. They can achieve results which no other current product is capable of and at very low cost. These micro sensors and smart coatings have many degrees of freedom in their composite materials and structure, and will respond to a variety of possible triggers resulting in many potential designs and applications. Examples of applications most of which are not doable by any other means are listed below. Inital market penetration is focused on government uses and selected company introductions.

MATERIALS SECTION

PEL Associates was founded in May 1993 to provide technology services including product development, process optimization, manufacturing support, and materials selection and evaluation. PEL has broad industrial experience ranging from resin and film manufacture to consumer products, transportation, and aerospace. PEL's Smart Products Section was founded in 2001 providing novel micro sensor and renewable coating products for defense and homeland security (see below).

As President of PEL Associates, my technology experience spans over twenty-five years resulting in twenty-five publications, five recent books, numerous patents and key contributions to commercial developments such as Kapton polyimide film, high performance composites, novel consumer products, engineered materials, and new smart micro sensor and renewable nano coating array products. Recent work involves development of specialized materials for various industrial, marine, defense and homeland security applications. Our Associates are world class scientists and engineers with skills in many areas of technology.
