Nanocyl presents broad product range at the world's largest Plastics and Rubber Trade Fair

Nanocyl and Velox show spectrum of products at K2007 in Düsseldorf from 24 to 31 October 2007

Sambreville, Belgium, 15 October 2007 – Nanocyl, the Belgium-based leader in the production of carbon nanotubes, has the pleasure to announce their presence at the 17th edition of the number 1 Plastics and Rubber Trade Fair in Düsseldorf, Germany. Nanocyl will be represented by its European distribution partner Velox. Both Nanocyl and Velox will present a wide range of products and practical applications for Carbon Nanotubes in the industry of plastics and rubber. K2007 takes place at the Düsseldorf Fairgrounds from 24 to 31 October 2007.

Nanocyl will showcase their developments and products at this global trade fair for the plastics and rubber industry, which occupies some 168 000 m2 of exhibition space. Not only manufacturers of raw materials will be present at K2007, also constructors of machinery and equipment, producers of semi-finished products, technical parts and reinforced plastic products and related service providers will showcase their products and services in Düsseldorf. Nanocyl will attend K2007 through its German distribution partner Velox, the specialised raw materials distribution and sales company.

Nanocyl and Velox
The partnership between Nanocyl and Velox started early 2007 and covers sales and distribution services for Nanocyl’s industrial grade multi-wall carbon nanotubes powder and thermoplastic concentrates. With this partnership Velox and Nanocyl aim for a significant increase of the penetration of Nanocyl’s Carbon Nanotubes on the European market within different segments, including plastics, rubber and coatings. This agreement also covers the distribution of thermoplastic concentrates Plasticyltm, which are available for a wide variety of thermoplastics carriers.

At the K2007 Trade Fair, Nanocyl and Velox will show various product applications of the Nanocyl carbon nanotubes. Nanocyl products are used as conductive additives for Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) control in plastics for automotive fuel systems, electronic devices processing and handling such as integrated circuit (IC) and hard disk drive trays. Other applications include conductive plastics for electrostatic painting and reinforcement of technical rubbers. Different clients of Nanocyl, which have developed new products based on Nanocyl’s carbon nanotubes, will showcase them as well.

Nanocyl’s carbon nanotubes are also perfect conductive fillers for plastics materials. Carbon nanotubes outperform the properties of conventional conductive additives as carbon black and carbon fibres. The advantages are enormous, allowing for example innovative design, easier processing, lighter material and metal substitution. Realistic applications are to be found in shielding composites and coatings for enclosures, gaskets and other uses.

Carbon nanotubes of Nanocyl not only improve electrical conductivity, but also increase mechanical and thermal properties. Furthermore, Nanocyl continuously develops new, value-added products as the pre-dispersed carbon nanotube-based solution Plasticyltm. During K2007, at the Leistritz booth, Nanocyl will give demonstrations on a daily basis, showing there knowhow on compounding nanotubes with different polymers.

All these applications will be showcased and are to be discovered at the K2007 Plastics and Rubber Trade Fair in Düsseldorf, in Hall 6 at booth 6A23. The event will take place at the Düsseldorf Fairgrounds from 24– 31 October 2007. More information on K2007 can be found at www.k-online.de.
