Ionic liquids can also be used as a solvent and stabilizer for preparation of inorganic nanoparticles, enabling the control of particles size-growth. They can also be utilized as dispersion media for nanoparticles or as solvent for electrodeposition of nanocrystalline films of a wide range of metals that can not be electrodeposited from aqueous solutions.
