We at Cerion Technology, Inc. believe that a US transportation industry based upon diesel power, even more desirably, diesel-electric hybrid power, will substantially lessen our dependence upon foreign oil and significantly contribute to the reduction in the growth of greenhouse gases. The attractiveness of the diesel engine's many advantages over gasoline (spark ignition) engines (25% greater thermodynamic efficiency, 50% greater oil refinery yield of diesel relative to gasoline and 30% well-to-wheel efficiency of diesel electric hybrids, compared to 13% for hydrogen fuel cells) are somewhat diminished by the diesel engine's emissions of particulate matter (soot) and oxides of nitrogen (NOx). CTI's diesel products, coupled with diesel oxidation catalytic converters mandated by the 2007 EPA emissions standards directly address and ameliorate these emissions issues.
