Description :

In a world of powerful, ‘always connected’ wireless devices, Polymer Vision’s goal is to provide the leading technologies for large displays in small mobile devices. We’re enabling whole new design concepts in mobile products, opening up revolutionary possibilities in form and flexibility.

For device makers, this means freedom to create distinctive products with strong consumer appeal. Content owners, service providers and network operators also stand to benefit from large screens on small devices. For them, greater ‘visual convenience’ creates exciting new business opportunities in the growing data-oriented broadband services market.

Unique experience
Although Polymer Vision is a young business, we spun out from Philips Electronics in 2006, we have more expertise in polymer electronics than any other player in this field. With access to Philips’ expertise, we can draw on over 20 years’ experience in polymer electronics and a wealth of patented IP (Intellectual Property) developed by Philips’ world-renowned research organization.

Within one year of our launch in January 2003, we had already demonstrated the world’s thinnest, highest resolution, largest diagonal rollable display. In September 2004, we started a pilot production line with sufficient capacity to demonstrate the commercial viability of the technology.

Rollable displays: ready for commercialization
To help us develop our unique display technologies to their full potential, we have established strategic partnerships with a number of other leading companies specializing in films, organic materials and advanced display technologies. Their expertise adds to the know-how of our own in-house R&D team.

Today, our rollable display technology is ready for commercialization and we are actively seeking further partners who share our belief that large screens in small devices are vital to the connected, mobile world.
