International Conference on Electronic Properties of Two-dimensional Systems and Modulated Semiconductor Structures

Start:
End

Short description :

The 17th International Conference on Electronic Properties of Two-Dimensional Systems (EP2DS-17) and the 13th International Conference on Modulated Semiconductor structures (MSS-13) will be jointly held at the Magazzini del Cotone in Genova, Italy, July 15 - 20, 2007.

Long description :

This will be the 2007 edition of the biennial conference series that began in 1975 and are now established as the major events in the research fields of modulated semiconductors and low-dimensional electron systems. EP2DS traditionally covers the fundamental physics as well as the transport and optical properties of electronic states in low dimensional semiconductors and other mesoscopic systems.
MSS addresses the synthesis, processing and applications of modulated materials. With an initial focus on semiconductor hetero- and nanostructures, MSS now also encompasses the broader range of hybrid, modulated organic, spintronic, and biologically-based modulated structures.

EP2DS 17+13 MSS topics include:

Electronic, optical and magnetic properties of low-dimensional semiconductor quantum structures
Spintronic and spin phenomena in nanostructures
Organic semiconductors and hybrid structures
Physics and devices for quantum computation
Nanoelectronics
Advanced photonic devices
Novel low-dimensional structures, including carbon nanotubes, nanowires, biological and molecular structures.
Emergent phenomena in the Quantum Hall effects,
Metal-insulator transitions,
Novel probes, techniques and fabrication methods.
