2. ENTA nanotechnology and policy meeting for Industry - March 14th, Brussels

ENTA policy meetings are regularly held to discuss issues of relevance to industry. Our next Policy meeting will be held in Brussels on 14th of March 2007. The topics will include:

* An Update from the European Commission’s Nanotechnology Unit on FP7
* An update on REACH Maciej Baranski from DG Enterprise and Industry
* Paul Borm of Magnamedics will discuss toxicology testing strategies for nanoparticles
* Dr. Antje Grobe from the University of Stuttgart risk perception
* Prof Josè Kenny from the University of Perugia will discuss Life Cycle Analysis
* Thomas Epprecht from Swiss Re – will discuss risk assessment/management
* Volker Türk of Wuppertal Institute to discuss ethical and legal impacts of nanotechnology

3. FP7 Brokerage Event, March 21st, Dublin – NanoMicroClub
Venue: Enterprise Ireland Conference Theatre (Glasnevin, Dublin 9). 10.00 - 16.30.

ENTA and Enterprise Ireland will provide an FP7 NanoMicro brokerage event on the 21st of March for industrial and academic researchers seeking project opportunities and partners. A total of EUR 3.5 billion has been earmarked for the NMP Programme over the duration of FP7 and the ICT Programme budget is EUR 9.0 billion. There are also NanoMicro opportunities under other programmes such as health, energy and food.

The day will consist of presentations to 1) to introduce Irish participants into proposals; 2) link companies into FP7 proposals led by Irish coordinators.

Presentations will be given by a variety of organizations including Intel, Enterprise Ireland and successful participants in FP6.

Project coordinators in the process of building a consortium are invited to give short presentations. Write to Del Stark (del.stark@euronanotrade.com) to express your interest in making a presentation. Project coordinators from outside Ireland are encouraged to attend.

4. NTNE2007 March 27th -29th, Helsinki – Environmental/Health/Safety Session for Industry
