In April 2004, Thomas Swan launched a carbon nanomaterials business for the production of high-purity single and multi-wall carbon nanotubes. Using a fully scalable CVD process, developed in collaboration with the University of Cambridge, the company can currently manufacture commercial quantities of purified single and multi-wall carbon nanotubes which are sold under the Elicarb® trade mark and used in a wide range of industrial and academic applications.
