Setting your timezone will synchronize all times format on the site to your timezone. Thus, when looking at the post time of an item, you will know exactly when it was posted at your local time.

To set your timezone, on the left user menu, click on "My account" link, then the "Edit" tab.
At the bottom you will see the timezone drop down list. Pick up your local time and save.
