Nanovip.com usage

The Nanovip.com site you are currently visiting is the third version of our site. With each new version, we add new features to better serve the nanotech business community. We think that our site has become an important resource for anyone involved in Nanotechnology.

4 Axis
The content of our site is articulated around four axis:

Databases
This is where we store the content items created by our staff or sent by our visitors.
All items in our database are selectively categorized and searchable. We have several databases: companies, products, people, events, classifieds, stocks, files and press releases.

Knowledge books
Books are used to accumulate knowledge documents like white papers, essays, scientific reports and such. There are two books; one on Nanotechnology and the one you are currently reading which deals with Nanovip.com usage.

News hub
Our news robot visits all the major nanotechnology web sites to report what was published by them. Thus, from Nanovip.com you are aware about what is going on about nanotechnology elsewhere on the web.

Community
This recent feature is still under development: Nanovip.com was built with community spirit in mind. It is possible for our users to add comment to any item in our database. We also have a traditional forum system, and each registered user can post comments in his own blog. We also plan to introduce “Groups” where users with a same interest or in a same region will be able to share nanotechnology content and organize meetings. If interested in the future group feature of our site, please tell us .

Visibility
Since our site is already visited by thousands of nano business people each day, publishing content on Nanovip.com usually gives excellent visibility. Each new item is announced in our front page, and properly categorized.

Usage
On the top of each Nanovip.com page you will notice the navigation row. This row links to each major component of the site. When you click on a link menu from the row, it usually loads a new navigation menu on the RIGHT column. Thus, if you click on a database, the right column will present you the database navigation tree so you can easily jump from a database to another. Similarly, if you click on a knowledge book it will load the book tree.

Another notable aspect of our site is its web 2.0 flavor, in the sense that it is very easy for visitors to add content to our web site. On the LEFT column of our design you can see the user menu. From there you can control your account setting and add content to our site by choosing which content type you are interested in adding. Even if we facilitate content addition, submitted content will be reviewed by our staff to make sure that it meets our standard and is properly categorized.

Even if most part of the site is accessible to unregistered users, it is strongly recommended to register. Registered visitors will have access to all the features and content from our site, plus they will be automatically granted the editor rights on the content submitted.

If you have any question about Nanovip.com’s usage, we suggest reading our FAQ. If you still have questions, don’t hesitate to contact us.
