Treder, Mike

Date of birth : 1954, February 02

Place of birth :
USA, California, Santa Clara

Brief resume :

A business professional with a background in technology and communications company management, Mike currently is Executive Director of the Center for Responsible Nanotechnology.

Educational background :

University of Washington, Seattle, WA, USA, major in Biology

Professional background :

A business professional with a background in technology and communications company management, Mike currently is Executive Director of the Center for Responsible Nanotechnology ( CRN ).

Nanotechnology vision :

I'm concerned that molecular nanotechnology manufacturing may be coming sooner than most people expect, and that the consequences could be very bad if the world is caught unprepared. That's why I co-founded the Center for Responsible Nanotechnology with Chris Phoenix in 2002, to raise awareness of the issues. The humanitarian potential of advanced nanotechnology is enormous; so is the potential for misuse. The vision of CRN is a world in which nanotechnology is widely used for productive and beneficial purposes, and where malicious uses are limited by effective administration of the technology.
