Epoxy resin is so called thermoset plastic. That means that once the polymerisation has been achieved the plastic structure and molecules form a irrevocable 3D network. This polymerisation gives the plastic (epoxy) an excellent adhesive properties simultaneously with low viscosity prior to the reaction. That is the reason why epoxy is used to bond other more durable components and adhere reinforcement structures into wanted shape.
