ABR Innova Oy
Address: Ensimmainen savu
Zip: FIN-01510 Phone : +358 (0)9 759 9530 Fax : +358 (0)9 7599 5310 CEO/ President : Markku Rajala ABR Innova was founded in Finland in 1995. The company started out building various photonics-related businesses for Nextrom, a subsidiary of Nokia. This gave ABR a stronger leverage in terms of IPR. In 2002, ABR Innova sold its photonics interests in order to focus 100% on large-scale glass and ceramic markets. This soon was extented to steel surfaces as well. At the core of ABRs products and support services is a novel hot aerosol technique for depositing coatings of nano-scale particles on glass or ceramic surfaces. These provide significant performance benefits: 1. Self-Cleaning: an invisible, bonded layer of nano-particles enables any indoor or outdoor glass inorganic surface (tile, glass, steel) to indefinitely repel accumulations of any organic materials, such as molds or bacteria. 2. Repelling Moisture: the hydrophilic characteristics of certain nanoparticles can be deployed to eradicate the formation of droplets on surfaces. 3. Coloring: by applying nano-particles at working temperatures, glass surfaces can be colored without the need for separate (and expensive) vats of colored glass. Also, glass itself can be created in the aerosol if desired. In addition to cost savings, the technology provides unique possibilities for glass design. The company also works on advanced projects, developing new applications for its core technology. ABR has offices in Helsinki, Finland (headquarters); Lohja, Finland (plant) and Silicon Valley, California and has agents in other locations around the world.
