With NanoWal, we hope to enhance the knowledge and the sharing of the expertise and of the activities of everyone, to enriched everybody’s projects with new competencies, to create a favorable space for the growing of new collaborations and research projects, to favor multi-disciplinary approaches, to meet the needs of the industry in the field, to disseminate the knowledge, … To achieve these goals, the network will base its activities on three pillars: the sharing of scientific expertise, the sharing of research facilities, and last but not least, the education by the settlement of seminars, schools, doctoral schools...

NanoWal has the ambition to be open and living. First, this means that every academic laboratory or research center in Wallonia-Brussels having activities in the “nano-field” are encourage to join the network. Industries and SME’s interested in following the recent development in this fast growing field are also welcome in the network. This also means that the success and the future of NanoWal mainly relies on the enthusiasm and the initiatives of all of its members.
