Founded in 1995, Biophage Pharma Inc. is a biopharmaceutical company located at the Biotechnology Research Institute in Montreal. The Corporation primarily targets are the biological detection and management of microbial infections.

Through its therapeutic program, the Corporation has developed two products, Coli-ProTM and Salmo ProTM, for the treatment and/or management of E.coli and Salmonella infections and has entered into two major R&D agreements with National Defense and University of Toronto/NIH to develop new therapeutics against anthrax.

Through its diagnostic program, Biophage is developing a biosensor using an innovative nanotechnology. These nanosensors are based on impedance spectroscopy, an enabling technology that can detect and quantify microbial pathogens in real-time. The unique nanosensors will be built from various proprietary technologies already developed by Biophage (biocapture molecule: phages and antibodies) and by the Biotechnology Research Institute-NRC (signal generation and detection)

Biophage also operates a revenue-generating contract research organization (CRO) division that delivers niche services in the fields of immunology/immunotoxicology under Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) conditions including a Beryllium Reference Lab to test beryllium hypersensitivity in workers.

The Corporation intends to broaden the applications of its core technologies in order to increase commercial potential and reduce business risk, and to seek strategic partnerships to accelerate Biophage’s product development.

As a knowledge-driven company, Biophage enjoys a strong intellectual property portfolio, which it continuously strives to strengthen.

Biophage Pharma Inc. is a public company listed on TSX Venture exchange (TSX-V) under the symbol BUG.
