Ecology Coatings, Inc.
Address: 1238 Brittain Rd
Zip: 44310 Phone : 330.633.3500 Fax : 330.633.3464 Nanotechnology generally refers to particles and structures in the size range of nanometers. Particles this small, have a very large amount of surface area in relation to their volume. This enables them to impart superior characteristics to products in which they are successfully dispersed. What do we mean by liquid nanotechnology? Liquid nanotechnology is the way Ecology takes nanotechnology out of the realm of curiosities and puts it to work in the real industrial world. Ecology’s 100% solids UV curable coatings are the perfect medium in which to disperse nanoparticles. Unlike aqueous media, our 100% solids coatings allow dispersion without clumping or agglomeration which destroys the surface/volume ratio. Superior properties are preserved. A large variety of nanoparticles may be used, for a great variety of purposes. Nanoparticles may be combined with larger ones. Such an arrangement packs space very densely, resulting in superior hardness and water resistance. Nanoparticles may be chosen to impart extreme abrasion resistance. Ecology has taken this to a level that surpasses the performance of hard chrome --- without the regulatory woes. Nanoparticles greatly enhance hiding power. Ecology has produced a pigmented coating that can be applied in one coat at a thickness of one mil producing an instantly cured, opaque, corrosion and abrasion resistant surface. Coatings may be produced in either glossy or matte finishes. Nanoparticles enhance ease of handling. Spraying techniques are simplified enough to be handled by minimally trained personnel.
