CEO/ President :
Mr. Dominique Jozeau

Nanocyl is a young spin-off company founded in February 2002, emerging from the University of Namur.
Nanocyl is exploiting and valorising new discoveries and a strong portfolio of intellectual property developed by Prof. Janos B.Nagys team at the University of Namur in the field of Carbon Nanotubes.

Nanocyl is one of the first company active in this field which has the potential of producing soon commercial quantities of material.

At present, all production is dedicated to associated laboratories and private industrials partners for use in their research and development departments.

Nanocyl is also helping industrials to identify the use they could have of Carbon Nanotubes in their field that will give them a competitive advantage when the technology is implemented. A team of 9 researchers is available.

Nanocyl has chosen the "Catalytic Carbon Vapour Deposition" method of production as it allows production in large scale and is using industrial process which is well known.

Nanocyl speciality is also functionalisation of its products. Carbon nanotubes by essence are inert materials. By functionalising them Nanocyl allows their chemical compatibility with other materials. Hence they can be optimally incorporated within polymers, attached to metals, fixed to biomaterials, etc., thereby transferring their spectacular properties to the new composites.
