London: Research Associate in Analytical Electron Microscopy

Salary range £30,520 to £38,930 per annum
Fixed term for up to 12 months in the first instance

Applications are invited for a Research Associate position in Analytical Electron Microscopy at Imperial College London. The position is associated with the application of the monochromated aberration-corrected (Titan 80-300) electron microscope located in the Department of Materials, to a range of materials and nanotechnology research projects. Advanced electron microscopy of interfaces in functional ceramics. This project will involve the investigation of interfaces in oxide multilayers to probe the effect of the interfaces on the fundamental properties of spintronic, multiferroic and ferroelectric devices.

We invite applications form candidates with a PhD (or equivalent) in Chemistry, Physics or Materials Science who have a strong background in electron microscopy, particularly aberration-corrected high resolution TEM, scanning transmission electron microscopy and electron energy-loss spectroscopy.
