The Center for Nanotechnology Innovation, IIT@NEST in Pisa (Italy) is inviting applications for a postdoctoral fellow to join a multidisciplinary group of scientists to work in the area of STM investigations of the interaction of hydrogen with graphene. This particular research line is embedded in a larger initiative in the area of graphene-based systems for energy applications as part of the Energy Platform of the Italian Institute of Technology.
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated postdoctoral fellow to carry out a research project on the investigation by scanning tunneling microscopy of the atomic processes occurring during graphene exposure to atomic hydrogen.
Ideal candidates should have a strong background in surface science or physical chemistry and an interest in research focused on graphene. Basic knowledge of imaging and spectroscopic techniques with STM and of ultra-high vacuum technology is a plus.
We value scientists who can carry out interdisciplinary research projects with a high level of independence yet work in close collaboration with other scientists with complementary expertise.
The employment will be for two years. A competitive salary depending on experience will be offered.
